Mommy's done doing all the work around the house!!! And I figure it is past due to start a chore system in our house. The kids are asking for money, but both Barry and I are firm believers that it is important that they earn their money. So after some searching online I came across a sight called fisherkids.com and I really like the system they used. You can order right from them, I choose to make my own and do it a big different. It is based on the principle that if I fish for you, you eat for a day. If I teach you how to fish you eat for a lifetime. This is how ours works.
Each kids has 5 family team chores they must do Mon-Saturday. If they do not do the team chores they do not get to watch tv, play on the computer or other fun activities the next day. Also they must complete the team chores before they can pick 2 commission chores. The commission chores are on sticks and they pick two out and get paid 25 cents for each one if done correctly. They also have to record each day how much they made doing commission chores. At the end of the week Sunday, free day and pay day, they bring us their paycheck tear pad with the amount they made for the week. When they get paid they must give 10% away, save 20% the rest is theirs to spend. This was our first full week. They did great! Talon was so excited on Sunday that it was payday and they got a free day from chores! And the best part is my house stayed cleaner all week then it has in a very long time!
Here is a picture of our chore station.
